Aileen F. Barone, 83, of Fredonia died Friday morning (May 20, 2016) at Lake Shore Nursing Home in Irving. She was born July 5, 1932 in Cherry Creek, the daughter of the late George and Alvina (Eckert) Motto.
She had been employed as a nurse's aide at the Chautauqua County Home and had also worked at Margaret-Anthony Nursing Home.
A lifelong resident of the area, Aileen was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Church in Fredonia.
Her children were the joy of her life. They were her world and she was theirs. An extremely kind person who always did for others, she was warm and caring and made those who came her way feel special.
Aileen enjoyed bingo, shopping yard sales, decorating, and especially enjoyed holidays when she was surrounded by her family.
Survivors include three sons, Russell (Kay) Barone of Buffalo, Louis (Lisa) Barone of Houston, TX and Dan Barone of Depew; two daughters, Linda (Don) Campese of Rochester and Julie Barone of Dunkirk; three sisters, Peg Gould of Bemus Point, Geri Galofaro of Dallas, TX and Betty Jackson of Dewittville; two brothers, Richard Reading of Brocton and Mike (Jan) Motto of Dunkirk; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be held Monday, May 23 at 11:00 AM in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. The Rev. Carlton J. Westfield will officiate. There will be no prior visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the nursing staff at Lake Shore Nursing Home.
