Sarah "Sally" Wagner Burchick, age 78, of Ripley died on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at UPMC Hamot due to complications from an automobile accident. She was born in Ford City, PA on August 1, 1937 to the late Joseph Yorko and May Simmons.
Sally grew up around Kittanning, PA, where she graduated from Kittanning High School. Later in life, she was employed as a cook at the St. Gregory Catholic Church rectory and also Better Baked Foods in North East, PA. Throughout her life, Sally loved raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed collecting angels, cooking, shopping, going to the casino and helping others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Merle George, Donald David Wagner, Sr. and James E. Burchick; and a son, Robert George. Sally is survived by her sons, William George (Laurie) of Sherman and Donald Wagner (Julee) of Ripley; daughters, Susan Wardzinski of North East, PA, Julia Martin (Glenn) of McKinney, TX, Mary Busch (Perry) of North East, Sally Jobczynski (James) of North East and Dawn Field (Greg) of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Keith (Mary), Jessica, Bobbi Sue (Adam), Robert, Donny, Christy, Jimmy, Jacob, Jonathan, Dylan, Sarah, Kate, Zoe, Brady, Aiden and Kelsey; great-grandchildren, Kameron and Kolton; and special cousin, Rita Rusczyk (William).
Memorials may be made to the South Ripley Hose Company Number One Station 2, 10268 NE Sherman Road, Ripley, NY 14775. Private interment in Mina Cemetery.
