Salvatore Crino of Dunkirk, NY died on Friday, June 24, 2016 with his family at his side. He was born on Novemeber 12, 1937 in Barcelona, Sicily to the late Joseph and Angela (Genovese) Crino.
On July 18, 1964, he married the love of his life, Maria Francesca in San Antonio, Sicily.
After arriving in America, "Sam" worked at Kraft Foods for 28 years and co-owned America Clearners in Dunkirk, Fredonia, and Silver Creek.
Besides his wife of 52 years, Salvatore is survived by his children, Angela (Michael) Kozlowski, Joseph (Wendy) Crino, Rose Crino and Grace (James) Tarnowski, all of Dunkirk, NY, and Amelia (Donald) Ratzel of North Tonawanda, NY and Felicetta (Joseph) Ball of Williamsville, NY. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren, Joshua (Madison Crane), Justin and Jeremy Kozlowski, Salvatore and Alexis Crino, Raymond and Benjamin Tarnowski, Gianna and Angelina Ratzel, and Maria and Alicia Ball. He also leaves behind his sisters, Grace Chillemi, Maria Chillemi, and Amelia Torre as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Salvatore was preceded in death by his infant brother, Dominic Crino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 28 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church in Dunkirk, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Salvatore's Celebration of Life and may call at the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 East Main Street, Fredonia, NY on Monday, June 27 from 3 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Sheridan, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice (145 Fairmount Avenue, Jamestown, NY 14701) or Holy Trinity Church (1032 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY 14048).
