Rosalie A. Williams died on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY, following a lengthy illness. She was 84 years old.
Rosalie was born on January 2, 1932 to the late Joseph and Josephine Gambino. She graduated from Fredonia High School and worked for a time at Lake Shore Hospital in the Food Service Department. In her later years, Rosalie enjoyed being the mother to her children as well as a housewife.
In September of 1962, she married Edward M. Williams, and together they raised two children. However, Edward died in 1980.
Rosalie was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Fredonia. She would often join her lady friends and play her favorite card game, pinochle.
Rosalie is survived by her children, Alan Williams of Fredonia, NY and Lynn (Robert) Szatkowski of Seattle, WA. She is further survived by her brother, Frank Gambino of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Rosalie was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe and Jack Gambino; and her sister, Santa Rizzo, both of Fredonia.
Her funeral service will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 25 from 3-5 p.m. at the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 E. Main St., Fredonia, NY. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Fredonia, NY.
