Richard P. Dolce

Richard P. Dolce, 85 years old, of Brocton passed away after a sudden and brief illness on Saturday afternoon, September 24, 2016 at Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA, with his wife Lucille and son Jim at his side.

Richard was born in Brocton on November 25, 1930 and was the son of the late Peter and Violet Prince Dolce. He lived in this area his entire life. From 1948 to 1953, Richard served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy. Upon returning, he worked as a construction worker for the Labor Union 210 of Buffalo until his retirement. He was a member of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church of Brocton and a 66-year member of the American Legion John W. Dill Post 434 of Brocton.

Richard was an avid sports fan, especially the Buffalo Bills, and he especially enjoyed being with his grandsons, Connor and Peter Dolce.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Dolce, whom he married on September 21, 1957; one son, James (Michele) Dolce of Brocton; one daughter, Paula Dolce of Vero Beach, FL; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Richard Dolce II, who passed away in 2014.

There will be no visitation, and private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests memorials in Richard's honor and memory be made to The American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, 6725 Lyons St., PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057 and/or St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
