Fern H. Jackson, 82, of Jamestown, formerly of Stockton, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at WCA Hospital. She was born July 11, 1934 in Stockton, the daughter of the late Lamont and Ina Martin Hall.
Fern was raised and educated in Jamestown, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1952. She attended Calvary Baptist Church.
Fern was a secretary for a private detective investigation agency and also worked as a filing clerk for Jamestown General Hospital for eight years. In earlier years, she had worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Her main priority was raising and caring for her family. She was an avid baker. Fern's true passion was traveling with her husband, Donald in their motor home after retiring. During their travels, they visited every state except Hawaii. Fern and Donald just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Fern is survived by her husband, Donald R. Jackson, whom she married September 11, 1953 at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds; a son, the Rev. Raymond L. Jackson (fiance Cheryl Abbey) of Kiatone; a daughter, Wendy (Doug) Woodard of Jamestown; five grandchildren, Jennifer (James) Grice of Randolph, Jason Woodard of Jamestown, Jessica (Andrew) Ambrosini of Jamestown, Stephanie (Matthew) Small of Chandler, AZ and Stacey Rae (Aaron) Billquist of Jamestown; and 11 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jackson and McKenna Small, McKenzie, Kaitlyn, Anthony and Kylie Grice, Elizabeth Rose Sandy, Liam Ambrosini, Alaina and Emily Billquist. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons, Todd J. Jackson and Randy S. Jackson; a brother, Charles Hall; and a sister, Eugenia H. Kitner.
No services will be held. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Stockton.
