Alice C. Pawloski, 94, of Dunkirk died Tuesday morning, November 29, 2016, at the home of her daughter in Hamburg. She was born April 29, 1922 in Clymer, daughter of the late Walter and Josephine (Napierla) Stempkowski.
At one time, Alice was a waitress at the "coffee shop" in downtown Dunkirk. She enjoyed cooking, baking, her garden, reading and animals. Her memberships include Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig and the parish Holy Rosary Society.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Pawloski of Hamburg, Joanne (George) McClenathan of Florida and Elaine O'Brocta of Dunkirk; a sister, Sophia Urbanik of Dunkirk; grandchildren, Jason (Katherine) Levandoski of Michigan, Eric (Heather Smithy) Levandoski of North Carolina, Sara Levandoski of Hamburg, Kevin McClenathan of Florida, James O'Brocta of Buffalo and Karen (Robert) Harrington of Dunkirk; great-grandchildren, Grace Agnello, Rebecca O'Brocta, Patrick O'Brocta and Robert O'Brocta; two stepgrandchildren, Megyn and Madeline Quandt; her feline companion, "Emily"; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death, in addition to her parents, is her husband, Aloysius Pawloski, who died August 23, 1991; brother, John Stempkowski; and sister, Mary Gebczyk.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call Friday, December 2 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 3 at 11:30 AM in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Interment will be in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
