Florence A. (Lajewski) Wysocki

Florence A. (Lajewski) Wysocki of Houston, TX passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the age of 86, following and extended fight with cancer.

A Dunkirk native, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo A. Wysocki; her parents, Joseph and Jadwiga Lajewski; sister, Genevieve Letersky; and brothers, Daniel, Warren and Henry Lajewski.

She is survived by daughter, Mary Ann Taylor and her husband Joseph; and son, Martin and wife Victoria (Boye) of Houston. She is also survived and was blessed to have grandson, Jacob Gadewoltz of Watford City, ND; granddaughters, Jennifer and Sarah Wysocki; grandson, Joseph; granddaughter-in-law, Macy; and great-granddaughter, Ella Marie Wysocki, all of Houston; and great-grandson, Jacob Gadewoltz of Harrisville, RI. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, and their children, whom she adored, living across the nation.

She was born and lived most of her life in Dunkirk, was a Dunkirk High graduate, and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Millard Fillmore Nursing School in Buffalo at the young age of 19. She worked as a surgical and ward nurse at Brooks Memorial Hospital, as well as at the SUNY Fredonia clinic and several local doctors' offices.

After living in Dunkirk for most of her life, she moved to Houston to be with her children, where she lived out her years enjoying being with them and their children. She was loved by all of them and will be greatly missed.
