Rodney J. "Rod" Wise, 56, of Cassadaga passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Absolut Care of Dunkirk. He was born August 6, 1960, a son of Kenneth and Patricia Glaiser Wise of Cassadaga.
Rod was a 1960 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School. He was formerly employed as a truck driver for Peck's Trucking and Don Frame Trucking, and known by the "handle" of "Pig Pen."
He was a member of the Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department and Sons of the American Legion 1280; and enjoyed hunting, college softball and football; was a Buffalo Bills fan; and most of all, he loved supporting his sons at their sporting events.
Father of Nicholas Wise of Hamburg and Derek, Brandon, Tyler and Zachary Wise, all of Cassadaga; grandfather of Payton and Ella Wise; brother of Scott, Fred (Kathleen) and Greg Wise, all of Cassadaga. Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins; and the mother of his sons, Kathy Skinner Wise.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25 in Park United Methodist Church, 49 Sinclair Dr., Sinclairville, with two hours of visitation prior to the service.
