Saturday Sports Update
Top: Sean McDermott (left) held his first news conference as Buffalo Bills head coach on Friday. McDermott, who was officially named the team's 20th head coach earlier in the week, told reporters that he wants to "build a culture of winning" to the franchise, which hasn't made the playoffs in 17 years. McDermott's defensive coordinator will be Leslie Frazier (right), who was the defensive backs coach for the Baltimore Ravens this season and had also worked alongside McDermott when the two were on the Philadelphia Eagles' coaching staff. Pope had his usual solid outing, scoring 29 points and adding five rebounds, six assists, and six steals. But the night belonged to teammate Aaron Swan, who scored a career-high 35 points. The Thunderbirds beat the Marauders 85-79 in a wild, fast-paced game. Photo by the Observer
