Sunday Sports Update
Top: Is Derrick Walters the next pitching phenom for Fredonia High School? He has been in lockdown mode in the Section VI baseball playoffs, and on Saturday against Alden, the junior pitched his best game yet. Walters struck out 15 batters and allowed only two hits and one walk, while his teammates gave him run support early. The Billies defeated Alden by a 4-0 score in the Class B title game in Gowanda and will face either Livonia or Hornell in next weekend's Far West Regional game. Photo by Brett Gould

Brown got knocked around early by North Collins, as the Eagles scored seven runs in the first two innings. The Bulldogs tried to fight their way back, but wound up falling 7-4. The tag was part of a double play that erased an early Chautauqua Lake threat, but the Thunderbirds had the last laugh, scoring one run in the 6th and 7th innings to win 2-0. Photo by Lisa Monacelli
