Sunday Sports Update

Top: One day after acquiring Jason Pominville and Marco Scandella in a trade, the Buffalo Sabres added two more veteran players through free agency on Saturday.  Goalie Chad Johnson (left) returns to Buffalo after playing last season with the Calgary Flames.  He had a 2.36 GAA and a .920 save percentage with the Sabres in 2015-2016.  Left winger Benoit Pouliot (right) scored 41 goals and 84 points in his last three seasons and is coming off a deep playoff run with the Edmonton Oilers.  Photos from NHL.com

Bottom left: New York Yankees Dellin Betances entered the bottom of the 8th inning of Saturday's game against the Houston Astros with a 6-3 lead.  When the inning was over, the lead was gone, and the Yankees lost 7-6.  Three of the runs Betances gave up came with two outs, including a two-run double by Yuli Gurriel that put the Astros in front.  Photo by USA Today

Bottom right: The Fredonia 8-10-year-old Little League baseball all-stars completed a sweep of Dunkirk in the District 38 tournament on Saturday with a dramatic 14-13 win in extra innings.  The victory moves Fredonia to the Section 1 tournament, which will be held in Penfield.
