A Jamestown man was arrested after a street check Friday evening. Around 9:40 PM, Jamestown Police officers observed 40-year-old Michael Jones walking in the area of Foote Avenue and Harrison Street. Officers had prior knowledge that Jones had an outstanding warrant from the Jamestown Police Department. Officers made contact with Jones, and he was taken into custody. During investigation, officers allegedly located a quantity of methamphetamine on his person. Jones was transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he was held pending arraignment on the warrant and a charge of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
