A Jamestown woman was taken into custody for allegedly violating an order of protection last Wednesday. Jamestown Police performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation on the city's north side at about 4:30 PM and found two people inside the vehicle. Officers say the passenger, 31-year-old Brittany Smith, had a valid stay-away order of protection with the driver. Smith was transported to the Jamestown City Jail on a charge of 2nd-degree criminal contempt.
