A Jamestown man who had an active warrant was taken into custody during a street check last Friday on the city's south side. Officers were in the area of Forest Avenue and Newland Avenue shortly after 11:00 AM, when they did a check on 41-year-old Tyler Perez. He allegedly fled on foot as officers got out of the vehicle, but he surrendered himself and was taken into custody without further incident. He was held pending arraignment on his outstanding warrant, as well as an additional charge of resisting arrest.
