Jamestown Drug Arrests Made from March 9-14

The Jamestown Police Department recently arrested several people on misdemeanor drug possession charges.

On Sunday, March 9th, officers were called to the area of Brooklyn Square shortly after 4:00 AM to check on someone's well-being. On arrival, they made contact with 32-year-old Salena Hare, who was found to have outstanding bench warrrants for failing to appear in court. Hare was taken into custody, and she was allegedly found to be in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine. She was charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, in addition to her warrants. Shortly after 8:45 AM, officers pulled over a vehicle in the area of Washington Street and West 13th Street for observed traffic infractions. An investigation found that the driver, 41-year-old Kimberly Mazzone, allegedly possessed a small quantity of fentanyl. She was booked on a charge of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and released with an appearance ticket.

On Tuesday, March 11th, officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Institute Street and Allen Street shortly after 5:45 PM for observed infractions. They could see drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle. Officers had both occupants -- 35-year-old Heather Brown and Ralph Pratt III -- get out of the vehicle for a search. Inside, they located a quantity of methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine. Brown and Pratt were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Brown was charged with three counts of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was issued traffic citations. Pratt was charged with one count of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was issued an appearance ticket. Shortly after 7:45 PM, officers working a GIVE hotspot detail saw 35-year-old Joshua Berg in the area of Prospect Street and McKinley Avenue. Berg, who was known to have an active warrant from the Jamestown Police Department, was taken into custody, and officers located a quantity of methamphetamine on him. Berg was charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, in addition to his warrant. Shortly after 8:45 PM, officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Lakeview Avenue and Falconer Street for traffic infractions. An investigation found that Angela Peru and Dakota Gibbon, both of Cassadaga, had outstanding warrants from State Police. Both were taken into custody without incident. Officers located a quantity of fentanyl on Gibbon's person, and a subsequent search of the vehicle located an additional quantity of cocaine in Peru's property. Peru and Gibbon were both booked for 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and then released to State Police to address their outstanding warrants.

On Wednesday, March 12th, officers pulled over a vehicle in the area of West 3rd Street and Cherry Street shortly after 7:45 PM for moving violations. During the investigation, 19-year-old Gerald Samuels, Jr. was allegedly found in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, and 33-year-old Jacquelyn Hayes was allegedly found to be in possession of a quantity of fentanyl. Both suspects were taken into custody and charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both were released with appearance tickets.

On Thursday, March 13th, officers patrolling the area of West 8th Street and Foundry Alley conducted a traffic stop after an observed vehicle and traffic violation. They determined that a passenger, 49-year-old Selwyn Goodlow, was wanted out of the Miami-Dade Police Department in Florida for retail theft. Goodlow was allegedly found in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine. He was charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and being a fugitive from justice and was held pending arraignment and extradition.

On Friday, March 14th, officers conducted a street check in the area of the UPS Store in the Foote Avenue Plaza just before 2:00 AM. 39-year-old Steven Lester, who had an outstanding warrant from the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, was taken into custody. Officers also located a quantity of methamphetamine on Lester's person. He was charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
