A Jamestown man who had several warrants for his arrest from the Jamestown Police Department was taken into custody after he barricaded himself inside a residence on the city's south side Monday evening. Jamestown Police were accompanied by Chautauqua County Probation in responding to the scene shortly after 6:30 PM. Officers say they gave 24-year-old Robert Gilbert, who was an absconder from probation, numerous chances to exit the residence, but to no avail. They forced entry into the room where Gilbert was barricaded and took him into custody. He was taken to the Jamestown City Jail on a charge of resisting arrest, along with his active warrants.
