The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office made several arrests related to drunk driving during the weekend of March 15-16.
On Saturday, March 15th, deputies pulled over a vehicle on Route 20 in the Town of Sheridan shortly after 2:15 AM. Further investigation found that the driver, 28-year-old Dustin Harmon of Collins, was allegedly intoxicated. He was charged with DWI, speeding, and improper of unsafe turn without a signal. Harmon will appear in Sheridan Town Court at a later date. Later that evening, a Sherman man was charged after he got pulled over for a violation at a location in the Town of Westfield. Deputies stopped a vehicle driven by 66-year-old James Weise shortly before 7:00 PM. After an investigation, Weise was charged with DWI, speeding in a 55 MPH zone, failure to keep right, and open container. He is scheduled to answer his charges in Westfield Town Court.
On Sunday, March 16th, three people were charged after deputies conducted three traffic stops in a span of less than 30 minutes. The first of those three stops occurred on Everett Street in the Village of Falconer just before 1:30 AM. Further investigation found that 28-year-old Brittney White of Sinclairville was allegedly intoxicated. She was charged with DWI and no/inadequete plate lamps and will appear in Ellicott Town Court at later date. Less than 15 minutes after that stop, deputies pulled over a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Kevin McChesney of Kiantone at a location in the Town of Ellicott. After an investigation, McChesney was charged with DWI and failure to stop at a stop sign. He is also scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court. Shortly after that traffic stop, 39-year-old Herman Harrington III got pulled over for an observed violation in the Village of Fredonia. Deputies determined that Harrington was allegedly intoxicated and charged him with DWI and speeding. He will appear in Fredonia Village Court at a later date.
