Two Jamestown residents were taken into custody after separate street checks were conducted in the city on Thursday.
The first arrest occurred when Jamestown Police were patrolling the area of Prendergast Avenue and Crossman Street shortly after 12:15 AM. Officers saw 23-year-old Robert Owens IV walking with a person who has a stay-away order of protection against him. Owens was transported to the police department and charged with a felony count of 1st-degree criminal contempt due to his criminal history.
Shortly after 4:00 AM, Jamestown Police were on patrol in the area of Brooklyn Square when they saw a suspicious female who falsely identified herself. According to officers, an investigation determined that the female was 31-year-old Christine Baca, who was found to have an outstanding warrant from the Chautauqua County SHeriff's Office. She was also allegedly found to possess a small quantity of fentanyl. Baca was taken to the Jamestown City Jail and charged with 2nd-degree criminal impersonation and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, in addition to her warrant.
