The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold its 18th Annual Giant Yard Sale on Saturday, August 20 from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday, August 21 from 9 am to 3 pm, in Floral Hall at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds, 1089 Central Avenue in Dunkirk. Please note - there will only be one day of early bird shopping this year, on Friday, August 19 from noon to 8 pm. There will be no sales prior to that date and time. There will also be a bake sale, basket drawings, and a drawing for a special tandem bicycle package all three days. Hot dogs and drinks will be sold on Friday from noon to 3 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm. This event is LHS's biggest fundraiser of the year, as the organization works to help companion animals be safe, healthy, and find permanent, loving homes. Items to be contributed to the Yard Sale can be dropped off at Floral Hall Tuesday, August 16 and Wednesday, August 17 from 10 am to 8 pm, and Thursday, August 18 from 10 am to noon. LHS respectfully asks that donated items be in saleable condition. Also, please, no large appliances, metal bed springs, magazines, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, cassette tapes, clothing, shoes, suitcases, electronics (TVs, computer monitors, towers and printers), or outdoor plants. Due to NYS regulations involving invasive species, LHS regrets that it cannot sell outdoor plants this year. We can only sell indoor house plants. LHS appreciates the community's support of this major fundraiser.
