SUNY Fredonia 'Safe Halloween' Returns iCal

Saturday, October 28 2023 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Area children will have the opportunity to trick or treat safely within the halls of Mason Hall on the State University of New York at Fredonia campus at Safe Halloween on Saturday, October 28th from 1:00-4:00 PM, courtesy of the Percussion Guild and the Student Association.

"There will be live music and, of course, trick or treating for children and parents to enjoy," said Joseph Fiumano, co-president of the Percussion Guild and a senior music education major from Syracuse.

Members of several student clubs will occupy second-floor practice rooms (elevators are available) for children to trick or treat and collect candy. The event is free, and is open to Fredonia students, faculty, staff and community members, Mr. Fiumano noted.

Children, age 14 years and under, are welcome and are to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

"There will be various signs across Mason Hall pointing children and parents in the right direction during trick or treating that will also lead toward live musical performances," Fiumano noted. "We hope to see many excited trick-or-treaters and parents at this year's Safe Halloween!"

Safe Halloween was last held in 2019 and hadn't returned due to COVID pandemic restrictions and other extenuating circumstances.
