Holy Trinity Presents Stations of the Cross with Contemporary Music and Reflections iCal

Friday, March 22 2024 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM

Seeking a Lenten journey that resonates with modern sensibilities? Look no further than Holy Trinity Parish's upcoming event. On Friday, March 22, at 7 pm, the parish will host its 20th annual Stations of the Cross, offering a unique blend of traditional devotion and contemporary music. In an innovative twist, the solemnity of the Stations will be accompanied by live performances of modern songs, each carefully selected to complement the reflections on Christ's final journey to the cross. From the poignant melodies of Bill Joel to the soulful tunes of Josh Groban, attendees will be taken on a spiritual journey through the lens of contemporary music. Led by a talented ensemble of musicians and vocalists from Holy Trinity the event promises to evoke the raw emotions of Jesus' suffering, death, and resurrection. Tom Donovan will take the lead vocals and narrate the stations, Christina Donovan performs vocals as well as playing the flute, cello, violin and bass guitar. Marie Sedota on vocals and guitar (both acoustic and electric), violin, and bass guitar, Fran Page on keyboard, along with Nick Siracuse on drums, complete the ensemble. Jane Dickerson will narrate the reflections, providing a thoughtful examination of themes such as forgiveness, hardship, and honesty, relevant to the challenges of the 21st century. This transformative experience offers participants a fresh perspective on the traditional Stations of the Cross, inviting them to reflect on the universal struggles of humanity in today's world. Whether you're drawn to the power of music or seeking a deeper connection to your Lenten journey, Holy Trinity's modern rendition of this ancient devotion is not to be missed. Holy Trinity is located at 1032 Central Avenue in Dunkirk.
