Sheridan Historical Society hosts talk on Sheridan Railroad History

The Sheridan Historical Society will host a talk on Sheridan Railroad History on Tuesday evening, July 30. Roy Davis, who has had a life-long involvement with all things rail-related, will have a presentation which will include the history of the railroads that passed through and served Sheridan from the initial organization and construction of the New York and Lake Erie Railroad in 1838 to those existing now. Included are the many stations in Sheridan that facilitated agriculture and passengers throughout the years. The Historical Society will open its building to visitors from 5:00pm on, and Mr. Davis’s presentation will begin at 7:00pm. The Historical Society is located at 2702 Rt 20, at the Corner of Rt 20 and Center Road in Sheridan. All are welcome to visit and browse through the displays, and to enjoy learning about the history of the trains that traveled through Sheridan.
