The planning committee for the 56th annual Farm Festival in the Village of Fredonia continues to meet and update plans for this year’s event. The Fredonia Farm Festival will be a two day event this year taking place on Saturday and Sunday, August 24 & 25 in the Fredonia Commons. This year's major sponsors are DFT Communications, Kravitz Tree Service, and Chautauqua County and organized by an independent committee co-chaired by Lauren Boyle and Greg Krauza. Sub-committee’s have been formed and those leads have begun to plan those areas and events.
This year, organizers are hoping to emphasize the areas rich agricultural history with activities such as live food demonstrations with local chefs and ingredients, and presentations from local wineries and farmers. The committee is committed to the values of this festival including honoring our farm community, growing the family atmosphere, highlighting local entertainers and of course, the parade.
The Farmers Market will be on Park Street both days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Craft and Food vendor applications have been flowing in but there is some limited space still available. The annual Farm Festival parade will take place at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, if you have an organization looking to participate in the parade you can reach out to parade lead Mariah Kravitz at [email protected]. Two powerhouse local bands are scheduled for each night with “Two Towns” playing form 7 – 10 p.m. Saturday and “Party McFly” playing Sunday from 4 – 7 p.m. following the parade.
With the planning well underway, the committee is ready for the community to step in and help out. “There were so many people who were interested in the Farm Festival continuing when Festivals Fredonia threatened it’s cancellation. We need those folks to reach out and offer us a couple of hours.” Krauza stated “Lauren and I are counting on that community support.’’ Anyone interested in volunteering can email [email protected] or sign up directly on the website www.farmfestivalfredonia.com/volunteer. Help is needed in a variety of areas from maintenance, helping with children’s activities, to staffing a booth.”
The committee is thankful to have the full support of Mayor Ferguson, the Village of Fredonia, County Executive PJ Wendel, and our major sponsors. If any businesses or individuals are interested in sponsoring an event or activity they can email [email protected]
