Fredonia firefighters were called to a vehicle fire on the New York State Thruway around 6:50 pm last night. The fire, involving a tractor-trailer, was reported in the westbound lanes between Exits 59 and 58 near milepost 460. Fire officials say crews found the engine compartment of the tractor on fire and firefighters were able to keep flames from spreading to the rest of the vehicle. No injuries were reported and crews were back in service around 8:30 pm.
