A Fredonia woman has been charged with multiple felony counts as the result of an investigation into welfare fraud. Investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division, Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene and Social Services Program Integrity Unit, and Chautauqua County District Attorney's Office arrested 30-year-old Tiffany Pratt early Monday afternoon. Investigators say Pratt failed to disclose income resources when she filed for SNAP applications from May 2022 to January 2025. As a result, she allegedly got more than $27,000 in SNAP benefits she was not entitled to receive. Pratt was charged with six counts of 1st-degree offering a false instrument for filing, plus one count each of 3rd-degree grand larceny, 3rd-degree welfare fraud and misuse of food stamps. Pratt was issued an appearance ticket for Fredonia Village Court.
