Niebel Will Not Seek Re-Election to County Legislature

A Chautauqua County lawmaker who has been serving a portion of the north county for more than a decade will not seek re-election. Sheridan Republican Terry Niebel represents Legislature District 5, which currently includes the towns of Sheridan, Arkwright, Villenova, Cherry Creek, and portions of the towns of Dunkirk and Hanover. Niebel was first elected to the panel in 2013 and is currently serving his sixth term in office. According to the Chautauqua County Board of Elections, Jason Merritt is the only candidate who has filed petitions to run for District 5.
