Ripley Fire Chief Retiring

The Chief of the Ripley Fire Department is calling it a career. Mark Smith is retiring after serving more than four decades with the department, including the past 20 years as chief. In a Facebook post by the South Ripley Fire Department, Smith is described as someone who "has embodied the values of dedication and selflessness. His extensive experience includes serving on multiple fire boards in Chautauqua County, providing invaluable service as an EMT." Smith's successor will be Jason Fisher.
