Dunkirk Police Investigating Shooting on Main Street

The Dunkirk Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night in the city, the second one in less than a week. Police Chief Chris Witkowski, who was a guest on WDOE's "Viewpoint" program on Tuesday, says this incident took place in the 600 block of Main Street and was reported shortly after 10:15 PM. Witkowski says his department's Detective Bureau is working on that case. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call (716) 366-2266. The incident comes four days after a shooting during an altercation in the area of East 5th Street and Columbus Avenue, which resulted in an arrest.
