Ferguson Announces Completion of EconoLodge Closure

Fredonia Mayor Mike Ferguson says the village has completed the closure of the former EconoLodge on Bennett Road. Ferguson, who provided an update during Monday's Village Board meeting, says all residents of that facility have been safely transferred to other locations. Ferguson says conditions at the facility had become deplorable. He adds that there had been many code enforcement and zoning violations there. Meanwhile, Dunkirk Hospitality, LLC -- the owner of the former hotel -- filed a lawsuit in Chautauqua County Supreme Court on Friday, asking for the closure to be annulled.
