The Fredonia Opera House will kick off Memorial Day weekend with a special concert by one of the nation's lauded military musical ensembles. The U.S. Air Force (USAF) Heritage Brass -- which is a 15-member ensemble -- will bring a sound that's described as both "thunderous and intimate" in a free show on Friday, starting at 7:00 PM. The USAF Heritage Brass showcases the service's excellence and precision with every musical note, performing everything from breathtaking orchestral transcriptions to toe-tapping jazz standards and heart-stopping patriotic favorite. The band performs more than 350 events annually throughout the Carolinas, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast for the general public and in support of Airman morale and protocol events. Davis says any remaining tickets will be available the door, but it's not assured.
