The body of a Lakewood man who has been missing since March has apparently been found along Chautauqua Lake. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says it received a call at about 8:45 AM Saturday of a possible body on the shoreline of the lake on the Stow side of the Bemus Point-Stow Ferry. Sheriff's deputies, with assistance from the Chautauqua County Coroner's Office and Lakewood-Busti Police Department, preliminarily identified the body as that of 64-year-old Daniel Emerson. An investigation found that Emerson entered the lake driving his pickup truck on March 4th and proceeded north onto the ice before going through it under the I-86 bridge. Emerson's truck was located by divers on March 16th and recovered four days later. The investigation is ongoing pending findings from the medical examiner's office.
