
An investigation into narcotics sales in the area of East 2nd Street and Crescent Street in Jamestown led to the arrest of two city residents on Friday. Narcotics detectives and investigators from the Jamestown Police Department and Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office saw 18-year-old Erick Lopez-Cruz conduct a drug sale with 36-year-old Stephanie Soto at about 1:30 PM. Further investigation resulted in a search of a motorcycle parked at 552 Crescent Street, where investigators located 60.3 grams of fentanyl, a loaded 9 mm handgun, and a .22 caliber handgun. Lopez-Cruz was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was allegedly found in possession of a small amount of crack cocaine and hydrocodone, along with $870 of suspected proceeds from drug sales. Lopez-Cruz was charged with one count of 2nd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count of 3rd-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, and two counts of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Soto faces one count of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. State Police also assisted with the investigation.
