The Village of Westfield DPW is scheduling an emergency systemwide power outage, beginning at 2:00 AM Saturday. The DPW says the outage is for replacing a failed piece of equipment in its Bourne Street substation. Work is expected to be completed and power back on within three hours. Crews say an outage is the only way to safely replace the equipment with the voltage present in the substation. In the coming weeks, the DPW need to schedule another outage to re-energize the new equipment.
