Early voting for the June primaries in Chautauqua County gets underway Saturday. The Chautauqua County Board of Elections says the nine-day voting period will run through Sunday, June 21st. All Democratic party members in the county, as well as Republicans in the Town of Kiantone, will be eligible for vote. Election officials say there will be two early voting sites -- the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds in Dunkirk and the Robert H. Jackson Center in Jamestown. Hours will be 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturdays and Sundays, 12:00-8:00 PM on Monday and Tuesday, and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The deadline for anyone not registered to vote in Chautauqua County for the June 23rd primary is Saturday. The Board of Elections will be open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for anyone wishing to register. Voters who cast their ballot early will not be able to cast a ballot during subsequent early voting days or on Election Day. If you request an early mail or absentee ballot, you will only be able to vote a provisional affidavit ballot, which can be counted if you have not already returned your ballot.
Sample ballots are available for viewing by going to the Chautauqua County Board of Elections website. They will also be available at both early voting sites.
