An investigation into a shooting early Saturday morning in the Town of Busti has led to the arrest of two Jamestown men. Lakewood-Busti Police say they were called to the Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant on Baker Street Extension at about 4:00 AM and located an adult female who had suffered a gunshot wound. She was airlifted to the Hamot Medical Center in Erie due to the severity of her injuries. The investigation found that the shooting had occurred at a residence on Big Tree Road. Officers say 20-year-old Anthony Rivera (left) and 34-year-old Alexander Jewell (right) were later taken into custody and charged with 1st-degree assault, 1st-degree attempted assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. Rivera and Jewell were transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and Jamestown Police Department assisted with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
