One person has died, while three others were transported to a Buffalo hospital as the result of a four-vehicle crash in the Town of Evans on Friday. According to Evans Town Police, a preliminary investigation found that a pickup truck towing a trailer was traveling west on Southwestern Boulevard in the area of Pontiac Road at about 3:15 PM, when it rear-ended two vehicles, one of which was towing a utility trailer. Following that collision, the pickup truck crossed into the eastbound lane, where it got struck on its passenger side by another vehicle. Officers say the driver of the pickup truck, a 25-year-old man from Farnham, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the two vehicles involved in the initial collision, as well as a passenger in the fourth vehicle, were all taken to ECMC. The names of the people involved in the crash are being withheld pending notification of family members. Southwestern Boulevard was closed for several hours while emergency personnel investigated the crash, provided medical aid, and worked to clear the scene.
