A 56-year-old man from Evans lost his life in a motorcycle crash last weekend. Evans Town Police responded to the scene on Holland Road after the motorcycle and its operator were discovered off the roadway Sunday morning. Officers say a preliminary investigation found that the crash had occurred Saturday evening, when the motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve and subsequently struck a tree. The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Holland Road was closed for several hours following the crash while emergency personnel investigated the incident and cleared the roadway.
