Ecklund Briefs Council Members on Jamestown's Second DRI Process

The process of deciding which of the 24 projects in the City of Jamestown's Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) proposal will be funded will begin soon. That from Mayor Kim Ecklund, who briefed the City Council on the process at Monday's work session at City Hall. Ecklund says city officials will be receiving documents to read and review soon from the New York Department of State and Empire State Development for the $10 million grant. She says one of the key parts of the process will be selection of a 15-member planning committee to community members...

Ecklund says a team of state leaders will be coming to Jamestown to discuss the process with officials and tour the proposed projects. She says the planning committee will then be selected to provide input to state officials. Ecklund adds that panel will meet multiple times, and there will be several public input meetings as well. However, she says the state will have the final say over what projects in the city's "Core to Shore" proposal are funded.
