A Jamestown man has been jailed following a pursuit of an electric bicycle on the city's south side early Thursday, during which he allegedly tossed drugs from his pockets. Jamestown Police tried to stop the male on the e-bike in the area of Forest Avenue and Columbia Avenue shortly after 1:35 AM for multiple traffic infractions. Officers say the man -- later identified as 47-year-old Watkine Watkins -- failed to comply and led them on a brief pursuit. During the pursuit, Watkins was allegedly seen throwing items out of his pockets; those items were later discovered to be individual bags of fentanyl. Watkins was eventually stopped in the area of Prospect Street and Prather Avenue and taken into custody without further incident. He was then taken to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment on charges of resisting arrest, 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence, and multiple traffic infractions.
