Multiple fire departments were dispatched to a residential fire in the Village of Sinclairville Saturday morning. Firefighters from Gerry, Sinclairville, Cassadaga, Falconer, Ellington, and Ellery Center, as well as the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office responded to 30 Sinclair Drive around 6:30 AM. Firefighters made quick work extinguishing the fire. Further investigation found that the fire was caused by a decorative wooden lantern with a lit candle on the exterior of the house, which ignited nearby combustible materials that spread up the exterior of the structure. No injuries have been reported.
