A Westfield woman has a court date after an investigation into a recent report of an unsupervised child in the village. Westfield Police say they were notified of the child walking on Route 394 in front of Ramsey's Playhouse shortly after 3:15 PM on June 21st. Officers allege that 35-year-old Heather Close failed to maintain adequate supervision and positive control of her child, placing the child at risk of harm. Close was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was issued an appearance ticket for Westfield Town Court. The child was returned home safely without injury.
