Two Jamestown residents, including a parole absconder, were taken into custody after a street check was conducted on the city's north side Thursday morning. Jamestown Police were patrolling the area of Prendergast Avenue and Wilson Place shortly after 8:15 AM, when they saw 40-year-old Christine Park. Officers say Park, who had a known warrant for failing to appear in Jamestown City Court, was accompanied by a male who gave them a false name. The man was later identified as 49-year-old Burdette Thomas, who was found to be an absconder from Pennsylvania parole. Both suspects were transported to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment. Thomas was charged with false personation and being a fugitive from justice.
