
Two people avoided serious injury following a two-vehicle crash on I-86 near Sherman. The incident occurred shortly after 12:15 PM on Thursday. According to first responders from Sherman, a passenger vehicle swerved in front of a tractor-trailer after another passenger vehicle decelerated rapidly to avoid hitting a deer. The tractor-trailer was unable to stop in time and rear-ended the passenger vehicle that had swerved. The drivers of both vehicles suffered only minor injuries and were evaluated on scene by Chautauqua County EMS and Sherman EMS. State Police also assisted at the scene.
