An active severe weather day is expected across a wide swath of the Northeast on Saturday. That includes all of Western New York. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has the region under an enhanced severe weather risk. Forecasters say an area of low pressure will move across Ontario and bring showers and thunderstorms to the area. The primary timeframe for severe storms will be late Saturday morning through Saturday evening. The primary threat will be damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH. Heavy rainfall is also possible, as well as a tornado or two.
