Wildfire smoke from Canada and Minnesota will continue to cause hazy skies across New York State on Saturday. The State DEC and Department of Health have issued an air quality health advisory until midnight for the entire state, marking the second time in three days that there has been a statewide advisory. Four regions, including Western New York, are projected to have an Air Quality Index (AQI) classified as "unhealthy," while the other regions will have air considered to be "unhealthy for sensitive groups." Western New York's AQI is forecasted to be 175.
