Traffic on Brigham Road in the City of Dunkirk was re-routed after a tractor-trailer struck a railroad overpass Friday afternoon. According to Dunkirk Police, the incident occurred at the CSX overpass at approximately 2:30 PM and involved a vehicle traveling south from Lake Shore Drive West. Officers say there were no injuries reported. The section of Brigham Road around the overpass was blocked off for approximately three hours while city crews cleaned up the scene.
This marked the second time this week that a vehicle struck a railroad overpass in the Dunkirk area. On Tuesday, an RV got damaged after it hit the overpass on Willow Road.
