Jamestown Eyeing State Grant Application for More Riverwalk Improvements

City lawmakers in Jamestown will consider a resolution later this month allowing the city to apply for grant funding from New York State for more improvements to the Greater Jamestown Riverwalk. The city's Department of Development is looking to apply for up to $2 million in Environmental Protection funds through the State Office of Planning, Development and Community Infrastructure for a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program grant. The funding will be made available through the New York State Consolidated Funding Application program. The northside improvements would include development of signature gardens, tiered terrace seating, as well as improved access, safety and placemaking initiatives intended to create a unique destination for residents and visitors to the city.
