A Mayville man faces several charges after leading police on a brief motorcycle pursuit in Jamestown on Sunday. Jamestown Police patrolling the city's south side saw the motorcycle traveling over 55 MPH shortly before 1:45 PM. Officers say they tried to stop the motorcycle, but 48-year-old Gregg Morrison allegedly refused to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. Morrison pulled into the driveway of a residence, hid the motorcycle inside the garage, and tried to evade officers. However, he was located at the residence and taken into custody without further incident. According to police, a subsequent investigation found that Morrison's driving privileges were revoked and that the motorcycle had switched license plates. Officers add that he was found to be operating the motorcycle while intoxicated. He was charged with 3rd-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, felony DWI (due to having two prior convictions), speeding, reckless driving, and multiple additional traffic tickets.
