A Sunday morning traffic stop in the Town of Portland resulted in the arrest of a Florida man who was found to have an active warrant out of Pennsylvania. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Christopher Van Hassel shortly after 10:30 AM. After an investigation, Van Hassel was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail on a fugitive from justice charge. He is being held pending an extradition hearing.
